Some helpful items to have on hand to make this delicious naan bread pizza. Or any pizza for that matter:
Pizza cutter. Here is the one I have and LOVE. I have the turquoise, but the variety of colors means you can find one to match your kitchen decor!
Cookie sheet. I really love the Nordic Ware bakeware. I have their cookie sheets, cake pans and muffin pans. The best thing about them? They have lids!
The ingredients for this pizza is, of course, completely customizable to your taste and preference.
Tonight, our chosen ingredients were simple, as we were hungry and it was getting late. And I did NOT feel like cooking. And this naan bread pizza is made in minutes and it is so easy to make, it’s almost like not cooking.
I buy the Naan bread I use at Sam’s club. Although lately it has been getting harder and harder to find. I have seen it once or twice at one of my local grocery stores, but I’ve never purchased them there.
I somehow forgot to take a photo of the bag of pepperoni, but I buy the double packs of pepperoni at Sam’s club too. Also, as you will notice at the bottom of the completed pizza, I also somehow forget to take a photo of the pizza with hot pepper rings on it.
First, just take some of that yummy naan bread out of the package and stick it under your oven broiler on high for a minute or two.
Then, flip it over and get the other side nice and toasty. Make sure you let some parts of it get nice and charred. I love some charred naan bread. Slather it with your choice of sauce and look at how yummy it looks.
Next, add your toppings.
Whatever you choose, mushrooms, onions, olives, sausage. Make your pizza masterpiece. One of my naan bread pizza masterpieces, ready for the oven.
Now, place it in the oven at 400 degrees and bake it for 7 to 8 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Then you can put it under the broiler for another minute or two if you like bubbly cheese. Or just pop it under the broiler on low for a few minutes and then on high to get the cheese nice and bubbly. Cooking on low first just ensures that the pizza sauce is warmed up. If you just put it back under the high broiler, sometimes the sauce doesn’t have enough time to get warm. (Been there, done that. Don’t make my mistakes.)
Also, all ovens bake differently, so please make sure you watch it when it’s under the broiler. We recently went from an electric oven to a gas oven and I can verify that is a true statement.
And finally, when you take it out of the oven, this, beautiful, delicious creation is what you see.
Charred naan bread? Check! Gooey, melty slightly charred and bubbly cheese? Check! Dinner done in minutes? Check!
And for the record, my husband and son (who are pizza lovers too), do not like their naan bread pizza charred as much as I do. They have the nerve to call it ‘burnt’. I love charred pizza crust.
